Mudslide Closes Westbound I-70 In Avon For A Couple Of Hours Thursday Afternoon
AVON, Colo. (CBS4) -- Westbound Interstate 70 was closed in Avon for a little more than two hours on Thursday afternoon after a mudslide. All lanes reopened just after 6:30 p.m.
The Colorado Department of Transportation tweeted at 4:17 p.m. that a safety closure was in place for westbound traffic at Exit 167 in Avon, "due to mudslide in area."
Officials encouraged westbound drivers to take an alternate route during the closure.
