Meteor Streaks Across Midwestern Sky
DETROIT (CBS4) - Thousands of people took to social media after a meteor streaked across the sky in the upper Midwest.
Residents in Detroit report hearing a loud boom or a blast just after 7 p.m. Tuesday.
NWS Detroit says it was in fact a meteor.
Emergency officials for Ingham County say there have been a flood of 911 calls, but say there is no need to call because "it's a natural meteor fireball."
They also say "there is no indication that anything landed on the ground or cased (sic) damage."
