Memorial Tree Replanted After Vandals Cut It Down
LONGMONT, Colo. (CBS4) - A special tree, cut down by vandals, was replaced in Longmont thanks to generous donations.
A weeping willow planted in memory of Sean and Staci Griffin was cut down more than a week ago. The Griffins owned Boulder Stove and Flooring. They both were shot and killed by a disgruntled employee in 2010.
Volunteers planted a new weeping willow in Longmont on Monday.
The tree was a way for the Griffin's only daughter to remember her parents.
Someone destroyed the tree on Oct. 18. Police have not arrested any suspects.
Avery Griffin is now in college studying psychology. She wants to help children who have experienced trauma.
