Man Arrested After Officer-Involved Shooting In Aurora Released

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- The man arrested after the deadly shooting of a suspect by an Aurora police officer has been released and the charges dropped.

Garnett Hubbard was one of two men at what appeared to be a stranded vehicle when police officers stopped to help. One of the men struck an officer in the head and then stole his police cruiser.

After a chase, the suspect was shot and killed by police. That suspect has been  identified as Hoang Tuan, 25.

Police arrested Hubbard for disorderly conduct but later dropped those charges and released him while they investigate his alleged role leading up to the shooting.

Three officers involved in the shooting have been placed on paid administrative leave during the incident. The injured officer was taken to an area hospital to treat a serious head wound.
