Man Accused Of Setting Fire To Building, Injuring 2 Officers Appears In Court
GOLDEN, Colo. (CBS4)- A man accused of setting an apartment on fire during a police chase where two officers were injured appeared before a judge on Monday.
Brandon Besson is facing several charges including attempted murder, assault on a police officer, burglary and arson.
Besson, 28, has an extensive criminal history. His appearance at the Jefferson County Justice Center included his latest alleged crimes and was just one of three cases he was scheduled for on Monday.
Besson allegedly ran away from police during a traffic stop at 14th and Lamar and then tried to hide in a four-plex in Lakewood. Police say he set the building on fire before he was arrested about a block away.
His bond was set at $75,000. Besson is scheduled to appear in court on Friday. He also has a pending case in Denver Court.
Seven people were displaced by the fire.
