Lakewood police: 2 dead after shooting near W. 14th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard
Lakewood police investigated a shooting that occurred near W. 14th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard that left two people dead on Thursday afternoon. Police were called to a home in the 5200 block of West 14th on reports of shots being fired.
When police arrived, they found three males suffering from gunshot wounds. One male was pronounced dead at the scene. Another male was rushed to the hospital where he died from his injuries. A third male was rushed to the hospital and expected to survive.
Police said multiple firearms were recovered at the scene. Although a suspect is not in custody, police do not believe there is any danger to the community.
Investigators believe the males were familiar with each other however have not established a relationship. Detectives believe there is a fourth person involved in the shooting who ran away from the scene. That person may have also suffered a gunshot wound.
