Jefferson & Douglas Counties Close South Platte River
JEFFERSON AND DOUGLAS COUNTIES, Colo. (CBS4) - Throughout the past week, dangerous high waters have swept away people, pets, and cars.
In light of this, Jefferson and Douglas counties are closing the South Platte River.
The closure extends from the Jefferson County line near Deckers to Chatfield Reservoir. The river is closed to all recreational use, including tubing, rafting, kayaking, and fishing.
To enforce the measure, roads along the river will be limited to local traffic only.
