Jeffco Kidnapping Victim Found Hours Later Near Suspect's Home
DENVER (CBS4) - Police arrested a man accused of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend in Jefferson County Saturday morning.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, David Sikora, 28, was arrested by police in Denver, but authorities couldn't find the alleged victim, identified as Megan Vandellen, 26, until Saturday afternoon.
Sikora was taken into custody at his home near Federal Boulevard and Alameda Avenue Saturday morning. Investigators then spent several hours looking for Vandellen, only to find out she was at a friend's house a few doors down from where Sikora was found.
"I get home and then the cops are here and they ask me about it. I was like. 'I don't know, I just got home, I don't know if she's here,' " said Vandellen's friend, who didn't want to be identified. "So we go downstairs to see, and yeah, she was there (lying) down."
Deputies said at approximately 5 a.m. Vandellen and a male passenger were chased down Highway 93 by her ex-boyfriend. Sikora, driving a white van with some sort of push bar on the front, allegedly rammed into their car and sent them spinning off the road.
"The man, in fear for his life, ran from the car, and he did not look back. But he heard Megan scream, and then the van took off and Megan was gone," Mark Techmeyer with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said.

Hours later deputies found Sikora and the white van at his home on South Alcott Street in Denver. He was arrested and taken into custody, but there was still no sign of Vandellen.
"We have found him and not her, so there's obviously a lot of concern on our part as to where her whereabouts are and how she is," Techmeyer said.
It wasn't until about 3:45 p.m. that officers canvassing the neighborhood would learn their victim hadn't gone too far.
"She was pretty (shaken) up, said she was having a hard time breathing, she was pretty bruised up was barely able to walk," her friend said.
Investigators aren't sure when Vandellen showed up at the home or why she didn't call police.
