Illegal Pot Grow Operation Found During Search For Federal Fugitive

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) - Police in Colorado Springs say the search for a federal fugitive led them to an illegal grow operation where they found more than 50 pounds of marijuana.

Officers found the stash while searching a home for the suspect. They say the homeowners had illegally tapped into the main electrical lines to power the pot grow.

Neighbors say they were happy to see the house raided by police.

"I smelled pot all the time, but now that pot is legal, that's not such a rare occurrence anymore, so what do you do?" a neighbor said.

It's not clear whether or not the fugitive was taken into custody. So far police aren't releasing any names.
