I-70 Reopens Through Glenwood Canyon, Work Completed Early
GLENWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) - Motorists on Interstate 70 in are getting some good news-- the work that shut down all lanes of I-70 through Glenwood Canyon wrapped up more than a day early.
The Colorado Department of Transportation initially planned to close all I-70 lanes through Glenwood Canyon from 9 a.m. through 3:30 p.m. both Wednesday and Thursday for rockfall mitigation work.
Crews wrapped up the work early and all lanes of I-70 were reopened at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. There will be no closure on Thursday as originally planned.
Eastbound traffic was rerouted off Exit 116 at Glenwood Springs and westbound traffic was stopped at Exit 133 at Dotsero.
