I-70 Reopens After Closure Near Vail Pass Due To Multiple Crashes
VAIL, Colo. (CBS4)- All lanes of Interstate 70 were closed at Dowd Junction on Monday afternoon due to multiple crashes. Both westbound and eastbound lanes reopened by 3:15 p.m.
UPDATE: I-70 WB 174 & EB 176 are now open.

The closure is at the I-70 and Highway 24 junction at mile markers 168-171.

It is unclear how many vehicles are involved. Exactly what caused the crashes is being investigated but there are snow-covered and slippery conditions in the area.
