Highway 36 Closed Overnight This Week During Bridge Demolition

WESTMINSTER, Colo. (CBS4)- This week Highway 36 will be closed overnight as crews demolish the bridge over Sheridan Boulevard.

The closure is the second half of the Sheridan Blvd. bridge project which kept Sheridan Blvd. closed over the weekend while traffic was rerouted onto the new bridge.

Demolition on the old bridge began at 10 p.m. Monday and will continue each night through Thursday. Highway 36 will reopen each morning at 5:30 a.m. in time for the morning commute.

Highway 36 will be off limits to traffic for ½ mile total, one-quarter of a mile on either side of the bridge.

On Friday the same stretch will be closed from 11 p.m. to 8 a.m.

The on and off ramps around the Sheridan Blvd. bridge will be the detour to traffic on Hwy. 36.

The project will finally be completed later this fall.
