Harry Mapps Pleads Guilty To Triple Murder, Sentenced To Life In Prison
PUEBLO, Colo. (CBS4)- A man who killed three people outside the town of Rye in November 2013 and then set fire to a home has pleaded guilty. A judge immediately sentenced Harry Mapps to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Mapps, 59, pleaded guilty to three counts of first-degree murder in the killings Reginald Tuttle, 51, Kim Tuttle, 55, and their daughter Dawn Roderick, 33 on Nov. 27, 2013.
The Tuttles owned the home that was set on fire and Roderick was a Pueblo resident.
A judge immediately sentenced Mapps to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Arrest documents show that investigators believe Mapps committed the murders after learning he was soon to be evicted from the Tuttle's home, where he had been living.
The house was set on fire about five hours after the triple murder.
Mapps was one of the most sought-after fugitives in the country at the time of his arrest. Authorities arrested the former truck driver and handyman in Oklahoma in late December.
