Grand County Officials Find Body In Colorado River

HOT SULPHUR SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Grand County officials say they have discovered a body in the Colorado River that they believe will be identified as a missing 19-year-old from Avon.

Authorities discovered the body about 25 feet underwater on Saturday and planned to recover the body with a diving team on Sunday. Sheriff's officials say they are confident the body will be identified as the man who went missing from Avon four days ago.

The missing man's name has not been released.

Officials say the missing man was rafting with a friend on Wednesday and stopped for the night. When the friend returned form finding firewood, the man was missing.
