Gov. Hickenlooper Calls For Statewide Bike Trails

DENVER (AP) — Colorado's governor is calling for a statewide recreational bike trail system.

Gov. John Hickenlooper says the trail system would make Colorado healthier by encouraging more people to cycle.

The Democrat says Colorado already has a "world-class trail system" from Rocky Flats to Rocky Mountain National Park. But he says the whole state needs one.

Hickenlooper says his administration will launch a Bike Health initiative as part of his plans for a second term. He took his second oath of office Tuesday and is giving lawmakers his fifth State of the State address.
