Interstate 70 reopens at Georgetown after deadly crash involving driver who was chaining up
The westbound lanes of I-70 fully reopened in Georgetown late Thursday morning after a fatal crash earlier in the morning. It's not clear yet if the snowy conditions played a role in the crash.
Master Trooper Gary Cutler with the Colorado State Patrol tells CBS News Colorado that a semi and vehicle were involved in the crash, which happened near mile marker 228. The semi was parked on the side of the highway, and a 56-year-old man from Northglenn was outside on the shoulder while chaining up his rig.
The driver of the other vehicle is a 26-year-old male. The Colorado State Patrol is investigating what happened leading up to the deadly crash.
