Garrett Grayson Experiences The NFL Learning Curve
NEW ORLEANS (CBS4) - Garrett Grayson is now a rookie with the New Orleans Saints.
The former CSU Rams quarterback was taken in the third round of the NFL Draft and was the third quarterback picked overall.
Grayson was considered one of the more pro-ready quarterbacks in the draft because of the offense his Coach Jim McElwain ran at CSU.
But Grayson admits there has been a bit of an NFL learning curve.
"A lot of the concepts that we have are similar to what I had in college. We just dumbed it down quite a bit in college. Coach McElwain's rule was no play calls ever longer than eight words. So now I've got play calls that are twice that long," Grayson told reporters this week.
"Something I noticed today, I kind of got in the groove of things and started to understand how this protection goes with that. So this will start to make sense and start clicking and it will get easier with time."
