Frisco Community Remembers Deadly Flight For Life Crash

FRISCO, Colo. (CBS4)- The community in Frisco is remembering a Flight for Life pilot killed in a crash one year ago. Two nurses on board were injured.

Patrick Mahany died when the helicopter crashed shortly after take off from the hospital.

Flight nurse Dave Repsher has been released from intensive care nearly a year after he was burned over 90 percent of his body.

Nurse Matt Bowe has recovered and returned to work.

The community is creating a memorial to honor the victims and those who rushed to save them.

"This tragedy has affected all of us in Flight for Life and all of the State of Colorado but it's really Summit County that embraced us and support us in this effort," said Memorial Park Steering Committee Chair Julie Kelble.

There is a memorial service planned for Sunday at the crash site. The permanent memorial will be completed by September.
