Freeman Fire Near Ruedi Reservoir 15 Percent Contained

EAGLE COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - The Freeman Fire burning in Eagle County on Sunday is now considered 15 percent contained.

No structures were threatened.

The fire has burned nearly 300 acres as of Sunday morning.

The fire was reported about 3 p.m. Saturday and the campground at the east end of Ruedi Reservoir was voluntarily evacuated. Homes in the area received a pre-evacuation notice as a precautionary step.

The fire continues to burn nearly exclusively on Forest Service land.

Fryingpan Road near the reservoir has been closed intermittently, but no long-term closures have been planned.
