Former Greeley Funeral Director Gets 12 Year Sentence

GREELEY, Colo. (CBS4) - A judge ruled this week that a funeral director will spend 12 years behind bars for selling fake funeral arrangements to 14 elderly victims.

Paul Acuna owned Paul's Funeral Service on 9th Street in Greeley. He pre-sold funeral arrangements and took more than $31,000 from people for services he said he would provide at their deaths but he never did.

The business closed in April 2012, and customers say they were never notified or given refunds for the prepaid services. Acuna was arrested in December 2012 on forgery and theft charges.
