Flash Floods Force Evacuation Of Boy Scout Camp
WALSENBURG, Colo. (CBS4)- A Boy Scout camp in southern Colorado has been forced to evacuate once again because of flash flooding.
Wednesday night 145 people were evacuated from the Spanish Peaks Scout Ranch located on Bear Creek Road in Huerfano County.
"Flash flooding really messed up the camp so obviously they needed a safe place to stay," said Disaster Program Specialist and Branch Manager Barbara Shufelt.
Five people were treated for minor injuries.
This is the second time in a month the scout camp has been evacuated. On July 8 the Red Cross opened an evacuation shelter in Walsenburg.
