First Christmas Full Moon In 38 Years Getting Set To Grace Our Sky

By Chris Spears

DENVER (CBS4) - It's something we haven't seen happen in 38 years and it won't happen again until the year 2034.

But this year the moon will officially be full on Christmas Day.

According to TimeandDate.com the December Full Moon will occur at 4:11 a.m. in Denver.

The December Full Moon is often called the Cold Moon as winter takes a firm grip. It's also known as the Full Long Night Moon as winter nights grow longer and the moon spends more time above the horizon.
