"Kind of freaked out wondering if everyone was okay," said neighbor Trish.

Trish, who lives next door, said that when investigators started blocking off the entire street with crime scene tape her worry turn to fear.

Firefighters found one person dead inside the home.

Karlyn Tilley, a spokesperson for the Golden Fire Department, said the death doesn't look suspicious but they are taking every precaution until they know for sure.

"They are treating it as if it could be any type of crime scene. So right now we don't know if the fire and the death were related and we don't know what caused the fire or the death," said Tilley.

Three different agencies will be working together to hopefully answer those questions.

The Golden Fire Department will investigate the cause of the fire while Golden Police, with the help of the Colorado Bureau, of Investigation will focus on how the person may have died.

Neighbors said the people who lived in the home were renting and that they kept to themselves.

Police have not released any other information on who was found inside.
