Camera Scans License Plates To Catch Would-Be Criminals

DENVER (CBS4)- Police in Denver will be using a mounted camera on a busy road to scan license plates. They're searching for criminals and missing children.
The camera sits atop the traffic signal at the Federal Boulevard and 6th Avenue intersection. It was installed last month.
This is the first permanent, stationary installation of this type of technology in Denver.
It can be used to scan license plates and alert police when it spots a vehicle of interest.
