Famous Tutu On Display In 'Rhythm And Roots' Exhibit

DENVER (CBS4)- The Denver Art Museum is celebrating the art of dance in its latest exhibit "Rhythm and Roots."
The exhibit explores the influences, evolution and traditions of dance in America.
One of the most prominent items on display is a tutu worn by ballerina Anna Pavlova. She wore the tutu in her signature ballet The Dying Swan that was choreographed in 1905.
"She had a particular connection with this costume. Allegedly, on her death bed her last words were, 'Get my swan costume ready,'" said curator Angelica Daneo.
The exhibit opens at the Denver Art Museum on Sunday and is included in the general admission ticket. Children 18 and under are free at the museum.
