22 Fallen Officers Names Added, Honored At Memorial

GOLDEN, Colo. (CBS4)- The names of 22 fallen officers have been added to the Colorado Law Enforcement memorial.

The names were revealed on Friday morning at the memorial during the annual ceremony at the Colorado State Patrol Academy in Golden.

The names of 21 officers who died while on duty before the year 1990 were added, along with Jefferson County Sheriff Sgt. David Baldwin. He was struck and killed last year while riding his motorcycle.

"Goes to show you that this is a large family. Doesn't matter the shape of the badge, the color of the uniform, ultimately we are all in one battle together to help Colorado," said Colorado State Trooper Josh Lewis.

The names of the fallen officers will also be engraved in the National Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C.
