Drugs Or Alcohol Suspected In Fatal Crash Early Sunday Morning

DENVER (CBS4) - A man was killed in a single vehicle crash early Sunday morning.

The crash occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. at South Santa Fe Drive and West Mississippi Avenue.

According to police, a Nissan Altima sedan was traveling southbound on Santa Fe at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control and hit a light pole.

Police believe drugs or alcohol may have been a factor based on evidence found at the scene.

The man's name hasn't been released.

Southbound Santa Fe from Tennessee to South Platte River Drive was closed for several hours for the investigation.
