DNA Evidence Helps Police Solve 1985 Murder Of Teen In Denver
DENVER (CBS4) - DNA has helped Denver police solve the murder of a teenager almost 30 years after the crime.
The body of 16-year-old Tracey Wooden was found in an alley in the summer of 1985. She had been strangled and sexually assaulted.
DNA evidence recently linked the murder case to convicted rapist Daniel Fellovetr.
Fellovetr was convicted in another attack two months after Wooden's murder. He died in prison in 2006.
In an email announcing the development, the Denver District Attorney's office wrote that the victim's family was contacted and "appreciated the fact that Wooden's murderer is now known and that he was only free for two months before being arrested and then dying in prison."
