'Diverging Diamond' Interchange Already Saving Lives

BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)- The so-called "Diverging Diamond" interchange in Boulder County is already saving lives, according to officials.

The interchange helps drivers get from McCaslin Boulevard to the Boulder Turnpike.

Officials in Superior say since it opened there have been no crashes with injuries and a 36 percent drop in non-injury crashes.

The old interchange resulted in about two crashes each month.

There are more than 80 of those interchanges across the U.S.
