'Senseless' Murder: Investigators Say Disabled Father Of 6 Was Ambushed

CENTENNIAL, Colo. (CBS4) - The Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help after a disabled 48-year-old man was shot multiple times and left to die. The body of Mark Daniel Davis was found on the ground in front of an apartment building in Centennial last month.

Investigators say Davis, a father of six, was ambushed and murdered and that so far no arrest has been made.

"The Arapahoe County Sheriff's office is near exhausting the few leads that we had, and have no suspects at this time," investigator Kal Gatchis said in a news conference on Monday.

Gatchis said Davis walked with a cane and suffered from severe arthritis in his back and neck. She described the crime as "senseless."

"He had no known enemies and by all accounts appeared to be a quiet man that basically kept to himself," Gatchis said.

The sheriff's office has increased the police presence in the area where the murder happened.

Anyone with information about his death or activity in the area that morning is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720.913.STOP (7867) or the ACSO tip line at 720.874.TIPS (8477.) There is up to a $2,000 reward for tips leading to the arrest and conviction of the shooter.
