Inmate Dies In Custody At Denver Downtown Detention Center

DENVER (CBS4) - An inmate died early Friday morning at the Denver Downtown Detention Center. The death was not related to the coronavirus pandemic.

According to a release, a male inmate died unexpectedly Friday morning at 3:35 a.m. in a jail housing unit.

A medical emergency team was immediately called to the unit but was unable to revive the inmate. He was not experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms.

The Denver Police Department is investigating the death, which is standard procedure.
