Denver Public Schools Adopts Sanctuary District Status
DENVER (CBS4)- The Denver Public Schools school board has voted to adopt what is essentially a sanctuary district status.
On Thursday night, DPS approved the "Safe and Welcoming" school district designation. That means any school in DPS is a place where all students can focus on their education and safety, regardless of immigration status.
One board members said it was important to address fear and uncertainty related to national events concerning immigration.
