Denver reaches milestone with 137 miles of bike lanes

The City of Denver celebrated a milestone for alternative transportation on Wednesday. The city has installed 137 miles of bike and scooter lanes.

This surpasses the goal of 125 miles set by Denver Mayor Michael Hancock in 2018 to connect riders of all kinds with the places they want to go. 

"In the last five years, we've transformed our streets with new neighborhood bikeways, protected bike lanes and traffic calming measures to slow cars and create a safer citywide transportation network for all," said Hancock in a statement. "We have set a strong foundation to ensure the future of mobility in Denver includes the ability to travel more easily by bike and offers safe places to scooter as well."
