Denver Man Convicted Of First-Degree Murder In Wife's Death

DENVER (AP) — A jury has convicted a Denver man of first-degree murder in the death of his wife.

The Denver District Attorney's Office says jurors deliberated for about two hours Friday before finding 41-year-old Robert Perez guilty of killing Dennielle Leichtle, whose body was found in her home Aug. 20, 2014.

Perez claimed her death was a suicide, but the investigation discounted that and he was arrested two weeks later.

He faces a mandatory term of life in prison without parole when he is sentenced June 2.
