Coroner Working To Identify Body Recovered From Boulder Creek

BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - Authorities in Boulder County are investigating after a body was found in Boulder Creek Tuesday evening.

According to Cmdr. Heidi Prentup with the Boulder County Sheriff's Office, multiple agencies responded after a call came in about a body spotted in the creek near Valmont Road and 61st Street.

"The resident said they saw what they believed to be a body in Boulder Creek. The resident was not sure if it was human, or an animal," Prentup said in a statement.

Authorities were able to confirm the body was that of a person who was deceased and the body has been recovered. It's not clear if the body is that of a man or a woman.

"The Boulder County Coroner's Office is on scene and will continue their investigation into the identity of the victim. They will release this information upon notification of next of kin," Prentup said.

The body of a man who went tubing, Chris Danko, 35, still hasn't been found after he disappeared on the creek back in May.
