LITTLETON, Colo. (CBS4) - Nearly 10 years after he was killed serving his country, friends and family gathered this week for a concert to celebrate the life of Danny Dietz.

Monday marked what would have been Dietz's 35th birthday. The Navy SEAL from Littleton was killed in Afghanistan in 2005.

The concert on Monday at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema included music, a comedy show and a live auction.

One of the comedians was a veteran who was badly burned during his fourth tour in Iraq.

"I do stand up comedy. I'm known as the well-done comedian," said Bobby Henline who has visible burn scars all over his head. "There's nothing more honorable that be asked to come out for a gold star family to be alive and be here to contribute. I can't think of anything better to do with my life."

Dietz's mother Cindy Dietz-Marsh said she was pleased with the turnout.

"I am thoroughly honored and thankful that everyone still continues to support the family and honor our son," she said.

The event raised money for the Danny Dietz Memorial Fund & Danny Dietz Leadership and Training Foundation which serves at-risk youth.
