Animal Shelter Employees Charged, Shelter Closed Amid Investigation
PUEBLO, Colo. (CBS4) - The former director and veterinarian at a now-closed animal shelter in Pueblo are both facing animal cruelty charges. Linda Mitchell and Joel Brubaker worked at Community Animal Services of Pueblo.
Issues at the shelter included cleanliness, cage size, medical treatments and neglect.
More than 30 of the shelter's animals were brought to Denver to be cared for by the Denver Dumb Friends League.
