DENVER (CBS4) – I hope you are ready for some real summer-like heat!

We have a broad ridge of high pressure from California across Colorado right into the nation's mid-section. This will be bringing in a prolonged heat wave from now through the weekend ahead.

The average high temperature in Denver this time of year is 82 degrees and Denver should be about 10 degrees above that on Wednesday and even hotter over the next several days.

Next chance for rain is a slight chance for showers on Monday of next week.
