Colorado State Patrol To Use Drones In Crash Investigations
(CBS4) -- The Colorado State Patrol will be using drones for crash investigations. Officials say traditional investigations at crash scenes can be dangerous for first responders and motorists -- and can lead to big delays in traffic.
Now, dozens of troopers will become certified drone operators to make crash scene mapping and reconstruction faster and safer.
Officials say, in some situations, it can take 10 minutes or less!
Last year, troopers investigated more than 3,500 crashes.
