Colorado State Patrol: Driver Collides With Officer On Interstate 25

DOULGAS COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - Colorado State Patrol says a 21-year-old male driver crashed into one of their officers early Saturday morning on Interstate 25. CSP says the driver was in a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro heading south at Ridgegate Parkway.

They say he suddenly drove from the No. 2 left lane and collided with the officer, who was also driving south, in the No. 4 lane. The officer was in a marked vehicle.

CSP tells CBS4 the driver went off the road, down an embankment and stopped in a ditch.

Investigators say drugs, alcohol or speed do not appear to be factors. It's not clear if the driver was arrested or faces charges.

Neither the officer or the driver were hurt.
