Dogs No Longer Allowed On Trails At State Park

DIVIDE, Colo. (CBS4) - Dogs are no longer allowed onto hiking trails at Mueller State Park.

The decision comes after a three month trial period when people could bring their pets, but some owners didn't follow the park rules.

People left behind dog waste on trails, let their dogs off leash, with some even chasing the wildlife.

There was also a trial period at Cheyenne Mountain State Park, but people there were better behaved.

That park is working to permanently allow dogs on certain trails.
