DENVER (CBS4) - The Colorado Sports Hall of Fame will honor skier Mikaela Shiffrin and the Colorado State University at Pueblo football team with awards, it announced Wednesday.

Shiffrin, a world champion skier and a 2014 Olympic gold medal winner, has been selected for the second straight year as the Colorado Athlete of the Year.

Shiffrin and the team will be recognized at the Hall's banquet on April 2.

The Hall's selection committee also recognized CSU receiver Rashard Higgins, CSU volleyball player Taylor Simpson, and high school athletes Phil Downing (Broomfield boys wrestling) and Alexa Smith (Lewis-Palmer girls volleyball).
