3 shot near Smoky Hill Road, Quincy Avenue in Aurora, 1 detained
Update: The suspect is a 35-year-old male and he was arrested in an Aurora apartment.
Two women and a man were shot near homes in the area of E Smoky Hill Road and E Quincy Avenue in Aurora on Thursday night. One person was detained, and there was a large police presence late into the night.
According to Aurora Police Department in an update, one of the women was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, and the other woman and the man who were shot had serious injuries.

Smoky Hill was completely shut down in both directions between Quincy Avenue and Evanston Street.
What exactly led to the shooting was still being investigated, and police expected to have a large scene in the area of the shooting indefinitely on Thursday night.
