The Clear Creek Sheriff's Office says deputies are investigating a death in Idaho Springs they're calling "suspicious."

Saturday night, the coroner's office identified the man as 57-year-old Paul Peavey.

The sheriff's office said earlier in the day that his death, in the 1000 block of Two Brothers Road in Idaho Springs, was under investigation. Later in the evening, Peavey was identified and the sheriff's office said it was investigating his death as a homicide.

Initially, the sheriff's office said it received a report of a missing person in that same area from earlier in the week and initially couldn't say whether the homicide victim was the person reported missing, but Saturday night, it said Peavey was the man reported missing.

The sheriff's office said it doesn't believe the public is in danger, but also said investigators have not yet identified a suspect.
