Colombian Who Pleaded Guilty In Pot Case Wants To Go Home
DENVER (AP) - A man who pleaded guilty to drug charges following raids of a dozen Denver marijuana facilities has been denied a request he be allowed to go home to Colombia and be sentenced there by phone.
The Denver Post reports that a lawyer for Hector Diaz made the request during a Friday hearing in Denver. U.S. District Judge Robert Blackburn said Diaz would have to be at his sentencing hearing. The Post did not report whether a sentencing date had been set.

Diaz pleaded guilty in February to visa fraud in facilitation of drug trafficking and conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute marijuana.
He also agreed to cooperate with authorities investigating three men indicted with him after a 2013 raid by federal agents of medical marijuana stores and cultivation facilities.
