Shooting Involving Officer Shuts Down Part Of Colfax

DENVER (CBS4) - A large number of Denver police responded to an officer-involved shooting near Colfax Avenue and Washington Street on Wednesday night.

Deputy Chief David Quinones tells CBS4 the officer's injuries are non life-threatening.

Officials say the officer was on a bike patrol when he was flagged down for a report of a robbery. The officer was shot in the leg. One suspect is in grave condition, while two other people were also treated for injuries.

A large number of officers also responded to Denver Health shortly after the shooting. Denver Police Chief Robert White visited the officer at the hospital and says he appears to be in good spirits.

White says he is withholding the name of the officer until family is notified.
