Cindy The Humboldt Penguin Is Growing Up At The Denver Zoo

DENVER (CBS4)- The Denver zoo is providing an update on a penguin chick who made her debut a few months ago. Cindy the Humboldt penguin is growing up.

She has fledged her nest, which means she lost her downy feathers and grew in waterproof ones. Earlier this month zookeepers found her enjoying a morning swim in the pool.

The chick is named after Cindy Bickel, a former Denver Zoo vet tech who worked at the zoo for 45 years.
