CDOT Asking Drivers To Be Ready For Winter Conditions This Weekend

GENESEE, Colo. (CBS4) – The Colorado Department of Transportation is pleading with drivers to be ready for winter driving when they head into the mountains this weekend.

With snow expected in the high country, heavy traffic is expected as people head west to take advantage of it on the slopes.

To ensure a safe commute CDOT will have snow plows, tow trucks and patrols all along the Interstate 70 corridor.

They are hoping to avoid the traffic nightmare that was experienced a few weekends ago.

CDOT is reminding drivers to make sure their cars are prepared for winter conditions by having proper tires and good windshield wipers.

The heaviest westbound traffic is expected in the morning while eastbound traffic will be worse in the evening.
