It happened to residents near West Center Avenue in the city's Belmar neighborhood.

"You would think people would have the common courtesy to not destroy other people's property but apparently they don't," said victim Richell Lucero.

Lucero's 4 Runner and 12 other vehicles parked outside had their tires slashed.

It's an expense that the victims did not anticipate.

"This will probably set me back a good $800, $900, no... actually over $1,000 including the tow truck," said Lucero.

Police tweeted photos of the damage, and they said there doesn't appear to be an obvious motive for the action.

Anyone with more information about the crime is asked to call police at (303) 980-7300.
