Burning Garden Debris The Definitive Cause Of Wildfire That Came Near Subdivision

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- A wildfire that broke out in east Aurora Friday afternoon was started by someone burning garden debris in their backyard.

The flames came dangerously close to homes in the Whispering Pines subdivision east of E-470.

That fire has since been put out. The burn area covers approximately 30 acres.

Officials with South Metro Fire Rescue said Saturday morning that charges are not expected to be filed.
